We like to get stuff done here at The Coolector. We also like people with a devilishly creative eye so I think we’ve found someone to have a beer with in the form of Alex Register after we were bowled over by his excellent looking The DIY Guide to Getting Stuff Book. Filled with a total of 25 symbols that are united by the pervading theme of do-it-yourself tools, this top notch looking guide is just the sort of design project that we are big fans of at Coolector HQ.
Billed as an exercise in iconography, book design and copywriting, I think we can all agree (or at least you soon will when you see the rest of the images), that Alex Register has nailed all three. Describing himself as a native Iowan and pizza lover, Register claims to have stumbled into design and I think we’re all lucky that he did because he already boasts a mightily impressive body of work of which this exceptional DIY Guide to Getting Stuff Done book is just a small part.
