Spinnaker Piccard Automatic Watch

For those who have set a £500 spending cap on their next watch purchase, we might just have come across the ideal candidate for the role in the shape of the, frankly rather awesome looking, Spinnaker Piccard Automatic Watch. Priced at £430, this luxuriously appointed and devilishly dapper timepiece ticks all of our stylistic boxes here at Coolector HQ and the fact it can be on your wrist for under £500 is nothing short of miraculous. This latest release from Spinnaker is a marvel of vintage styling fused with the rigour of modern-day watchmaking – put simply, the Piccard is re-establishing a new aesthetic in dive watch design.

The Spinnaker Piccard Automatic Watch (£430) is available in three eye-catching colourways – Dark Cerulean, Volcano Black and Hunter Green – and, to be honest, we love them all aesthetically. With an unmistakable bold presence, the Piccard still holds to the wrist comfortably and offers readability, and function while truly being a standout timepiece in any collector’s lineup. Made for a life worth living and those with adventure in their blood, this supremely classy timepiece will rapidly become your go-to daily watch.

HIGH QUALITY MATERIALS

The Piccard Automatic Watch case nods in the direction of a famous “bubble” lensed diver timepiece that was originally tested aboard the Bathyscaphe. Each one has been crafted solidly out of marine grade 316L but it is the super domed sapphire crystal lens that captures and pronounces the unmistakable silhouette of the Spinnaker Piccard. With 550 metres of water resistance, this fantastically well made and top performing timepiece also features an automatically regulating helium release valve which is essential for serious underwater aficionados.

Clarity and legibility are the order of the day with the Spinnaker Piccard Automatic Watch (£430) and you’ll not be found wanting in this department. Solid, unfussy clearly legible baton shaped applied indexes are rich with Swiss superluminova – which delivers a bright legible readout throughout – harmonising with the baton shaped hour and minute hands and “lollipop” seconds hand gliding across the dial face. All in all, you’ll be hard-pressed to find a better looking dive watch at this price point in our opinion here at The Coolector.

A Seiko built, TMI Japanese automatic NH35 movement is built into the case of the Piccard Automatic Watch and this provides a highly reliable and enduring timekeeping experience. We’ve got a real affinity for dive watches here at The Coolector, so this one from Spinnaker was always likely to resonate with us but it is probably also one of our favourite releases from the watchmaker to date. If you’ve got £500 to play with and find yourself on the hunt for a robust, reliable and stylish option, look no further than the Spinnaker Piccard.
