Get Lost in Time: The Vibrant Mr Jones Daydreamer Watch

In an era where every single second is relentlessly tracked, monetised, and optimized by buzzing smartwatches and endless notifications, the most radically productive thing you can do is absolutely nothing at all.

Embracing the increasingly lost art of letting your mind simply wander, the wonderfully eccentric horological masters at Mr Jones Watches have collaborated with a brilliant creative mind to craft a timepiece that actively encourages you to zone out.

The Mr Jones Daydreamer Watch is a stunning, wearable piece of art that serves as a gentle daily reminder to pause, reflect, and appreciate your own unique journey. Priced at an incredibly reasonable £225, it fundamentally challenges the traditional purpose of a wristwatch by suggesting that losing track of time every now and then is exactly the point.

A Canvas for the Imagination

The captivating, kaleidoscopic dial is the brainchild of MURUGIAH, a renowned British Sri Lankan multi-disciplinary artist and designer based in London.

Having trained extensively in architecture before pivoting to illustration a decade ago, his impressive portfolio boasts heavy-hitting collaborations with clients like Apple, Elton John, and The Stanley Kubrick Estate.

For this specific project, he infused the dial with his signature candy-coated, surreal aesthetic, peppered with beautiful South Asian motifs. As Murugiah explains, navigating the world and learning about oneself within it is a deeply universal feeling; this design represents the part of him that daydreams his way through that intense investigation.

At the very center of the design sits “Muru,” a recurring character in the artist’s vibrant universe. Relaxed and contemplative, Muru quietly guides the way as they rotate around a complex, threaded mandala pattern. Surrounded by playful clouds and an explosion of joyful colors, the watch face becomes a tiny, curious world full of small visual discoveries.

Telling Time Differently

If you are familiar with the fascinating back catalog of Mr Jones, you already know that reading the time is rarely a straightforward, two-handed affair.

This brand excels at making the act of checking your wrist a genuinely engaging, highly interactive experience. To figure out where you are in the day, you simply look to the rotating elements of the artwork itself.

The vibrant red petal gracefully points to the current hour, while the character Muru dictates the minutes. It naturally takes a moment to adjust to this unconventional layout, but that is entirely by design. While you are daydreaming and deciphering the dial, you briefly lose your strict, rigid sense of time, only to gain a fleeting moment of consciousness and clarity in return.

Robust Specifications and Limited Rarity

While the face is a whimsical, unapologetic celebration of color, the underlying architecture is built strictly for everyday reliability. The watch features a universally flattering, medium unisex size housed in a rugged 316L stainless steel case.

It comes secured to the wrist with an 18-millimeter silver stainless steel strap that perfectly complements the highly polished case aesthetic. Protecting the delicate artwork is a hard-wearing sapphire crystal glass, ensuring the vibrant dial remains totally free from unsightly scratches during daily wear.

Powered by a dependable single-jewel quartz mechanism, it also boasts a highly practical waterproof rating of 5ATM, meaning it can easily handle the unpredictable, splash-heavy nature of daily life without skipping a beat.

Backed by a 12-month warranty, it is a worry-free daily driver. However, if you want to add this candy-colored masterpiece to your collection, you will need to act incredibly fast.

It is available exclusively from Mr Jones Watches and is strictly limited to a mere 300 pieces worldwide, with each individual edition number permanently engraved on the caseback.
