5 new spirits to try this autumn

We don’t know about you but we love a cocktail here at Coolector HQ and we’re always hunting for new spirits to add to the home bar. If you’re equally enamoured with rums, gins vodkas et al, you’ll want to take a look through our pick of 5 new spirits to try this autumn below:

Isle of Wight Distillery Mermaid Gin

Hand-crafted on the Isle of Wight using ten ethically sourced botanicals, Mermaid Gin delivers a smooth yet complex blend of fresh organic lemon zest and peppery grains of paradise, with a hint of sea air from locally foraged, fragrant rock samphire. A refreshing and invigorating serve, for the free-spirited.

Lost Years Four Island Rum

Any company that helps to save sea turtles is alright in our book here at The Coolector and the fact that Lost Years are doing it by crafting delicious rum is the icing on the cake. Their Four Island Rum is classically Caribbean: fruity and aromatic with juicy notes of tropical fruit, combined with the warm smokiness that comes from those years spent in lightly charred barrels previously used for maturing bourbon.

Amass Botanic Vodka

Vodka can be a bit of an abrasive spirit so it’s alway good to tone it down a bit with a hit of botanicals and that’s exactly what you get with AMASS’ Botanic Vodka. With notes of Marigold, Chamomile, and Lemon, this vodka celebrates Nordic distilling tradition and the rich, vibrant history of Scandinavian drinking culture. It takes inspiration from the region’s long-standing spirit tradition and Master Distiller Morgan McLachlan worked with craft distillers in Copenhagen to develop the liquid before moving production to Central California.

GlenAllachie 18 Year Old Whisky

When they received the keys to GlenAllachie, they Master Distiller Billy Walker immediately set to work putting his fingerprint on our whisky; Scottish barley, 160 hour fermentation, slow distillation. As a blender for almost 50 years, the warehouses are where Billy really does comes in to his own. Working across our 16 warehouses with casks dating back to the 1970’s, Billy has selected a limited number of casks to be released as GlenAllachie 18yo. The signature GlenAllachie rich, robust spirit in harmony with the heather and butterscotch notes.

Storywood Storywood Speyside 14 Añejo Tequila

Born in Mexico and raised over 14 months in single malt Scotch whisky barrels. Storywood’s adventurous Añejo Tequila is a tantalizingly two-sided drop that will deliver an impactful taste sensation. Hiding in every deep amber dram are notes of toasted oak, roasted nuts and treacle toffee.
