Camera Restricta

Billed as a disobedient tool for taking unique photos, this cracking little bit of kit might not be everyone’s cup of tea but if you’re the sort who wants to make sure that the pictures that you take are one of a kind, then the Camera Restricta might just be the thing for you.

It is extremely noticeable that, when visiting tourist heavy cities, most people gravitate to the same spots in the city to take the same generic photos that have been seen a thousand times before. This is where Camera Restricta steps into action and uses GPS to locate itself and then looks online at geotagging and, if too many photos have been taken in the spot you’re standing, the viewfinder shuts down and doesn’t let you take the photo.

Whilst this might seem like a novelty product, and it is still merely a concept design, it would help to spark a little more creativity and originality in photo taking as we’re all guilty of taking the same photos as one another when visiting tourist hotspots. Check out a video below and a few more shots of the camera itself to get a feel for how it works:

Though it’s a prototype product at present, there is certainly scope for something like the Restricta Camera which will help to produce much more unique and interesting photos of some of the world’s most tourist heavy cities and if you want to up your photo came, you’ll probably join us here at Coolector HQ in hoping this concept design becomes a reality.
