Kollokium Watch

As you’re likely aware, we like our watches here at The Coolector and we’ve definitely had our heads turned by a somewhat secretive and eye-catching timepiece that has just emerged by the name of the Kollokium Watch. This highly interesting design has some considerable heritage as it comes from three watch-loving friends who are well-known in horological circles – Manuel Emch, Barth Nussbaumer and Amr Sindi – who had a strong desire to build something from scratch – and, resultantly, the stunning Kollokium Watch was born.

By their own admission, their flagship offering is uninspiringly monikered K,P–n°01 (Kollokium Projekt 01) and this first release aims to
immediately and unabashedly lay down the foundation for future projects. From what we’ve seen so far here at Coolector HQ, this is going to be one mighty popular timepiece amongst collectors even though it has a hefty price tag of just shy of 3000 Swiss Francs. The first iteration of Projekt 01 will be released during the first quarter of 2024.

This spectacular new timepiece from Kollokium is chock-full of fantastic features that really help to set it apart from the crowd and make it a late contender to be our favourite timepiece of the year here at The Coolector. Some of the standout features include the fact that the case in die-cast 316L steel (no CNC machining) with a two-part construction and valve-shaped crown, a bezel-less construction with cylindrical sapphire “glass box” crystal and a super cool matte black dial set with 468 hand-applied and hand-painted cylindrical markers (in 6 different heights and diameter) with orange emission Super-LumiNova.

Powering this majestic looking watch is the La Joux-Perret G101 automatic movement with 68 hours power reserve and each of these watches comes with an elastic textile strap with hook fastening system. The Kollokium Watch may appear simple enough at first glance, but the closer you look, the more aesthetic details begin to jump out at you. The textures. The depth. The contrast. The interplay of light and dark; of industrial and fantastical. Want a watch to set you apart from the crowd in 2024? You just found it.
