Love Hulten Yesterday Vision Monitor

We love the vintage style with a contemporary twist designs of Love Hulten here at Coolector HQ and always wait with bated breath for his next release and, luckily, we didn’t have too long to wait for the extraordinary looking Yesterday Vision Monitor which is extremely retro in appearance but contemporary in performance. It is clear that a love of old school video gaming is the muse for most of Love Hulten’s creations and it’s no exception with this exemplary looking latest release.

The Love Hulten Yesterday Vision Monitor has definitely caught our eye here at Coolector HQ and if you’re looking for a wonderfully retro way of enjoying your favourite classic games (and even your modern ones but we’ll get onto that later), this is certainly going to be ticking all of the right boxes. As with most of the designs from Love Hulten, this uses a combination of materials to deliver the sort of bold, no-nonsense aesthetic we’ve come to expect from this talented video game inspired industrial designer.

Retro Awesomeness

With Love Hulten you know what you’re going to get from a design point of view and, quite frankly, we can’t get enough of it here at Coolector HQ and this Yesterday Vision Monitor is one of his finest looking creations to date. This magnificent piece of visually vintage design is available to purchase and comes with quite a punchy price-tag of €2799 but given the attention to detail that has gone into its creation and the versatile usage that it boasts, we think that this is a small price to pay for what will be such a head turning addition to your interior design aesthetic and overall gaming enjoyment.

Each one of these Love Hulten Yesterday Vision Monitors has an enclosure concept which has been hand crafted from effortlessly elegant material of mahogany, and this houses a 19″ 4:3 monitor, full-range loudspeakers and a built-in Raspberry Pi computer – which is capable of emulating classic gaming systems such as SNES, NES, Genesis, NeoGeo, MAME, Atari 2600, N64, PSX. The 1280X1024 monitor has HDMI inputs on the back so you can use external devices such as your laptop, Google Chromecast, and modern gaming consoles such as PS4, XBOX One and Nintendo Switch.

Measuring 60x60x20cm, the Love Hulten Yesterday Vision Monitor is certainly an imposing piece from the Swedish industrial designer and one that will make quite the visual impact in any home. Playing your favourite video games on here whether they be the likes of retro classics like PacMan and Mario or more contemporary offerings such as GTA and Fortnite will be great fun and to us here at The Coolector, streaming the next season of Stranger Things on this decidedly 80s looking device seems like somewhat of a must.

Superb Style

There is something about the visuals of Love Hulten’s designs that we find immeasurably alluring here at The Coolector and this is particularly apparent for the Yesterday Vision Monitor. We can definitely imagine playing some video gaming classics on this stylish looking and impeccably well made offering. Innovative in design, the Yesterday Vision Monitor uses a custom barrel-distortion to mimic the curvature of an old CRT monitor and it can connect up to 4 different controllers via Bluetooth.

Whilst the price tag a little shy of €3000 is a high one to pay no doubt, you quite simply aren’t going to get anything as unique as the Love Hulten Yesterday Vision Monitor to play your games on and a set of two wireless hardwood arcade controllers may be custom ordered as add-on upon request. In addition, if you want a bigger screen, you can request a custom order of the design up to 55″.
