Martenero Belgrano Mechanical Dive Watch

There are some watchmakers that have been on our radar for a while now and there’s one in particular that has left us impressed of late. The watchmaker in question is Martenero so we were understandably delighted when we heard they were making their first foray into the world of dive watches and happier still when we saw it was available on Kickstarter for an incredible price. Say hello to the Martenero Belgrano Mechanical Dive Watch. Your new adventure ally.

The Martenero Belgrano Mechanical Dive Watch on Kickstarter is available in four distinctive colourways and we’re particular partial to the Dark Blue offering which has a hint of vibrant orange on the dial. Given the quality of these Belgrano timepieces (we’ll get into that later), it’s hard to believe that you can get one of these on your wrist for as little as $279 during the campaign, which is some 29% off the final retail price of $395. If you’re after a dive watch for an unbeatable price in 2020, look no further.

Reinvention of a Classic

For the Belgrano, American watchmakers, Martenero, decided to reinvent the classic dive watch and wanted to deliver a contemporary, visually vibrant alternative. Designed to be something that will stand out on your wrist, while still remaining sophisticated and stylish. Boasting all the specifications you’d expect from a sturdy, functional diver, it’s hard to believe that you can get a Belgrano on your wrist for under $300 during the Kickstarter campaign.

The Martenero Belgrano series of dive watches on Kickstarter (from $279) gives you four styles to choose from and each one is multi-coloured and sure to turn heads aplenty in the direction of your wrist. Offering a mighty impressive 200m water resistance, 120-click unidirectional bezel, and plenty of lume for first class readability in low light conditions make this a highly functional dive watch for an exceptional price.

Offering first class design features throughout, the Belgrano dive collection from Martenero has a stainless steel case that has been custom designed and boasts complex brushed and polished finishing throughout. The dial has a high level of detail that you’d typically associated with watches at a much higher price point. This fantastic collection is powered by a Seiko NH35 movement that registers at 21,600 beats per hour. This is a high-quality Japanese movement which is used by many premium watch brands, and it’s similar in accuracy to much more expensive Swiss movements.

Devil in the Detail

It is clear to see that a lot of thought and attention has gone into the design of the Belgrano Dive Watches from Martenero. The stand out feature is the multi-coloured bezel that appears on all four versions. Crafted from acrylic, it’s a 120-click unidirectional bezel that you can easily adjust by hand. The stainless steel bracelet is made from the same 316L steel that they used on the case. It’s a contemporary, flat link style bracelet, and it has a deployant clasp with the MARTENERO logo.

Regardless of which of the four colourways you go for (they’re all stunning in our opinion here at Coolector HQ) you’ll be getting an absolute bargain during this Kickstarter campaign. It’s rare to get a dive watch of this calibre for under $500 let alone under $300 so it really isn’t difficult to see why the Belgrano has already flown past its funding target – make sure you don’t miss out on yours.
