Runcible Smartphone

Smartphones today, regardless of their technological capabilities, are all much of a muchness truth be told on the visual front and it may well be high time that someone comes along and shakes things up a touch on the smartphone front. Well, that time may be nigh courtesy of a company called Monohm and their exceptional looking new device that goes by the name of Runcible.

The Runcible Smartphone takes its design inspiration from the humble pocket watch and looks entirely unlike any smartphone that has gone before it – something that will likely be divisive but we here at Coolector HQ think that they’re definitely onto a good thing because the product looks nothing short of fantastic. Boasting a frame 78mm in diameter, it fits perfectly into the palm of your hand and looks so supremely cool that it’s hard to understand why this form of design hasn’t been tried before.

Ergonomically superior and offering impressive levels of technology, the Runcible Smartphone is pencilled in for a release later in 2015 and we’ll definitely be keeping our beady eye on it until which time it becomes commercially available. Take a look at a few more shots of this stunning looking piece of technology below:

If you’ve grown weary with the lack of uniqueness in the world of smartphone design then the Runcible should certainly shake things up a little (or indeed a lot) and we’re thoroughly excited about the new avenues which this might take the smartphone market down. It may be a little while before a phone like this becomes the norm but this is undoubtedly a step in the right direction for those of us who want to see some more design inspiration permeating the world of smartphone design and we’re hoping to get our hands on a Runcible before the year is out.
