St Vincent

Not to put too fine a point on it but Bill Murray is, without question, one of our favourite actors of all time here at Coolector HQ right from when we first became aware of him in the 80s in the Ghostbusters franchise right through to his appearances in (another of our favourites) Wes Anderson movies today, so we inevitably get excitable when the talented chap has a new movie inbound and we’ve just stumbled across a trailer for his latest offering, St Vincent, which, we’re happy to report, looks decidedly awesome indeed.

St Vincent stars Bill Murray, Melissa McCarthy and Chris O’Dowd and follows the story of a single mother, Maggie (McCarthy), who moves in next store to Vincent (Murray), a down-on-his-luck, cantankerous with a love of alcohol and gambling who offers to take her 12 year son under his wing and, as you might expect from a Murray vehicle, he doesn’t behave as responsibly as perhaps he should and, of course, comedic excellence ensues.

We hadn’t heard of St Vincent until we stumbled across the trailer this morning so it was an unexpected Murray surprise for us to awake to and we’re glad that it looks quite so superb. Murray has a comedic timing and screen presence quite unlike any other and we’re glad to see that he’s still well and truly on form by the looks of the St Vincent trailer above. The movie is due for release in October.
