UNDONE x Monopoly Collection MONEYMAN Watches

We love a good quality collaboration timepiece here at Coolector HQ and one of the best in the business in this regard is definitely that of Hong Kong based watchmakers, UNDONE. They’re at it once again with their latest release which is the UNDONE x Monopoly Collection MONEYMAN Watches which boasts artwork from Stephen Bliss who is famous for his work on the video game franchise, Grand Theft Auto.

These UNDONE x Monopoly Collection MONEYMAN Watches are a real visual treat and do away with the nice guy image that surrounds Monopoly. These watches are determined to change everything you feel about the world’s most infamous boardgame and Uncle Pennybags(AKA Mr Monopoly) is getting ready to spread some serious wealth by doing away with his usual cane and moneybag line up for a more gangster-esque bulletproof vest and twin cash cannons.

First Class Collab

In this ground-breaking collaboration, Stephen Bliss, the artist who established the highly recognisable, illustrative style we all know and love in GTA, brings his iconic pop-culture style artwork and a dark sense of humour to UNDONE’s new set of two limited edition Monopoly Collector’s timepieces which will be limited to just 500 pieces each so you’ll need to make sure you move quickly if you don’t want to miss out on this one.

There are two different watches to choose from with the UNDONE x Monopoly Collection so you can choose the one that best suits your style. The first of which is “The Benjamin” by Stephen Bliss which is a United States Series 2006A, $100 bank note you can wear on your wrist. Signed off not by the US Secretary of Treasury but by Stephen himself; the dial boasts the authentic Monopoly board game patent number (“No.2,026,082” which was registered by the Parker Brothers back in December 31, 1935) cleverly disguised as a U.S. Mint issuance number. The green back themed watch is complimented by Genuine Brown Calf straps featuring UNDONE’s signature quick-release technology.

The second watch in the collection is “The Godfather” which has all the elements and subtleties that you would expect of a classy dress watch; applied indices, a Monopoly-red minute track along with the blend of brush and polished finishing which ensures an elegant feel without the garishness of too-much gold. The Black Cordura quick-release strap makes this a versatile piece which is ideally suited for both formal and casual occasions. The gold-pressed banknotes spraying out from Mr Monopoly’s twin cash cannons against the guillochéd subdials are only visible from certain angles. This is definitely a timepiece for those who want a real conversation starter on their wrist.

Devilish Details

As with all the watches from UNDONE, there are plenty of great little design features to appreciate with these Monopoly collection timepieces. This includes the fact that each watch caseback comes laser engraved with one of five special parodies of the classic “Chance/Community Chest” cards of the boardgames which have all been conceived by Bliss, so you never know what you’re going to get. The watches use a Seiko Instruments VK64 Mechanical-Quartz Hybrid Flyback Chronograph movement, 316L stainless steel casing, 30m water resistance and hardened domed K1 crystal glass case.

Available for the bargain price of $480, these limited edition UNDONE x Monopoly Collection are going to positively fly off the shelves and both “The Godfather” and “The Benjamin” are delivered in a premium “Luxury Tax”tin case, which comes complete with a commemorative golden 1M Monopoly bill featuring Rich Uncle Pennybags and Penny Gladrags (the Bonnie to his Clyde) so this will be the sort of watch that turns heads before you even get it out of the case.
