Worn & Wound x Martenero Edgemere Reserve LE Watch

The guys at Worn & Wound have done some superb watch collaborations in their time and their most recent might just be our favourite to date here at Coolector HQ – say hello to the Worn & Wound x Martenero Edgemere Reserve LE Watch. Limited to just 75 pieces, this one definitely won’t be hanging around on the shelves for long and if you’re a fan of striking watches that positively exude class then you’ll want to move quickly to secure one for your wrist.

The Worn & Wound x Martenero Edgemere Reserve LE Watch is available for pre-order now from the Worn & Wound store, WindUp, and has a price tag of $750 which, considering the calibre of the timepiece, seems like a small price to pay. The eye-catching aesthetic of this watch collaboration is certainly an impressive one and it is a nautical-themed timepiece which takes its design inspiration from the marine chronometers and deck watches of the 19th and early 20th century.

Excellent Performance

A little of design detail has gone into the Worn & Wound x Martenero Edgemere Reserve LE Watch to help make it stand out from the competition and be the sort of limited edition watch that you’ll be proud to own. Playing off of the instrument-inspiration of the design, the Edgemere Reserve boasts a power reserve at 12, 24-hour sub-dial at 6 and a date window at 3 for an engaging and satisfying aesthetic. All complications that not only add to the look of the watch, but its usability as well.

The Worn & Wound x Martenero Edgemere Reserve LE Watch has a reduced palette of white, grey and red which was used to create a toned-down version of this watch especially for this limited edition release. The result of this is that it takes on a less nautical feel, and actually takes a step into automotive and graphic territory. The Limited Edition is delivered with two straps, a custom American-made black leather strap, and a Navy nylon ADPT Strap, which is also made in the United States.

It’s on the inside of the Edgemere Reserve LE that things really come to life. It’s beating heart is the Miyota 9132 automatic caliber movement and this Japanese-made movement is very well regarded for both its robustness and reliability. The 9132 features 26-jewels, power reserve, 24-hour hand, date, hand-winding, hacking, a 42-hour power reserve and a frequency of 28,800 bph (beats per hour).

Contemporary Classic

Martenero are relative newcomers to the world of watchmaking having been founded as recently as 2014 but they’ve wasted no time whatsoever in establishing themselves as one of the most well regarded American watchmakers on the market. Based in Brooklyn, New York, the brand offers a mix of classic concepts and modern design language to create something completely original to Martenero. These distinctive designs take cues from everything from pilots and field watches to classic dress pieces.

The Worn & Wound x Martenero Edgemere Reserve LE Watch is extremely limited in nature, with just 75 pieces being made available, and when coupled with the appealing price tag of just $750, it’s unlikely that these timepieces will be hanging around on the shelves for long. A great looking collaboration between two of our favourite brands here at The Coolector and one of the coolest looking watches you can get for under $1k.
