1972 Ferrari 365 GTB/4 Daytona by Scaglietti

We can safely assert that we’re not ever going to have over half a million pounds to spend on a car but, in the unlikely event that we do, it would definitely be on something as effortlessly cool and luxurious as this 1972 Ferrari 365 GTB/4 Daytona by Scaglietti going under the hammer with RM Sotheby’s.

The 1972 Ferrari 365 GTB/4 Daytona by Scaglietti on RM Sotheby’s is in one of their private sales and has a guide price of £550k which, needless to say, precludes anyone but the most deep-pocketed from getting involved. If you are lucky enough to get your hands on this stunning steed, however, you’ll be treated to one of the best looking Ferraris on the market.

This is a rare RHD, U.K.-delivered 365 GTB/4 and it has been confirmed by Ferrari to retain its original matching-numbers engine, transaxle and body so its authenticity is unquestioned. It is wonderfully presented in its original colours of Argento Auteuil over a Nuvola leather interior which gives it the sort of dapper aesthetic that will make it the crowning glory of any car collection.

It is accompanied by its original books, including a rare warranty card and an original jack roll which adds to the overall impressive nature of this lot from RM Sotheby’s. This stunning Daytona formed part of a private collection until 2007 and it only covered 900 miles during this ownership. Between 2011 and 2017 it was maintained by Italia Autosport of West Yorkshire, with prior invoices from SMDG Performance Cars and DK Engineering.

This mesmerising Ferrari would be eye-catching enough merely for its spectacular colour combination, but further to this it is accompanied by an amazing history file, detailing its excellent provenance from new. Presenting as a fully matching-numbers example, this outstanding RHD 365 GTB/4 Daytona with a genuine 66,449 miles on its odometer at the time of cataloguing, this would make a wonderful addition to any collection.
