Autodromo x Worn & Wind Group B Series 2 Windup Edition Watch

If you’re a fan of watches, chances are that Worn & Wound are already well and truly on your radar and you’ll know that they regularly go into collaborations with watchmakers on limited edition timepieces. Well, their latest release sees them team up once again with the watch brand, Autodromo, for this superb looking Group B Series 2 Windup Edition Watch which is inspired by the brutal but innovative 80’s rally cars it shares its name with.

Boasting a mixture of hard lines, sharp finishing, titanium and steel parts with neon accented dials, and a slotted lug that only worked with single-piece straps, it’s clear to see that the Autodromo x Worn & Wind Group B Series 2 Windup Edition Watch is no shrinking violet in the aesthetic department and it packs a real visual punch on the wrist. With a price tag of $975, this latest offering has an integrated steel bracelet, as well as spring-bar lugs, which been added to this daring, auto inspired design.

Moto Inspired Design

Featuring a slatted design, the bracelet of the Autodromo x Worn & Wind Group B Series 2 Windup Edition Watch builds off of the severe design of the case, and delivers a seamless line of metal around the wrist. This Windup Edition timepiece is an extremely limited run of just 145 pieces and it comes in a unique monochromatic grey and blue colourway. The bracelet, mid-case, and crown have all been plated with titanium gray PVD and then matte finished, which ensures a stealthy, flat, dark overall appearance.

The Autodromo x Worn & Wind Group B Series 2 Windup Edition Watch ($995) has a dial surface which has been treated to perfectly match the grey of the case. The hands, indexes, and dial type are rendered in electric blue, which positively springs off the dial and immediately draws the eye. In addition to the steel bracelet, the Windup Edition comes with an Admiralty Gray ADPT strap, which further plays with the blue and grey palette of this stunning limited edition timepiece from Autodromo and Worn & Wound.

Inside of the Group B Series 2 watch from Autodromo and Worn & Wound is the Miyota 9015 automatic caliber. This Japanese-made movement is rapidly becoming an industry standard workhorse, as a result of its reliability and wonderfully thin profile. The 9015 features 24-jewels, date, hand-winding, 42-hour power reserve, a frequency of 28,800 bph (beats per hour) and hacking seconds (the second-hand stops when the crown is pulled out).

80s Vibes

In a change of pace that adds even more 80’s style and character to the design of this watch, the dial is rendered in a matte titanium grey, which matches the case and bracelet, giving it a distinctive colour-block style. The hands, indexes and dial print are in bright, electric blue, adding a cool shock of colour that complements the matte colouring perfectly. The overall aesthetic is a striking one, and truly unlike any timepiece we’ve seen before here at Coolector HQ.

With a sub-$1000 price tag, you can rest assured that the 145 pieces that are being made available for this collaboration between Autodromo and Worn & Wound won’t be hanging around on the shelves for long. The watch is deceptively lightweight at just 52 grams, yet incredibly powerful, courtesy of packing the venerable Miyota 9105 within. A great looking, limited edition watch that will be the ideal addition to any moto loving timepiece aficionado.
