Barley & Hops: The Craft Beer Book

Our preoccupation with craft ale at Coolector HQ is bordering on the ridiculous but we can take solace in the fact that we are not alone in our love of all things hops as this awesome looking tome from Gestalten that goes by the name of Barley & Hops: The Craft Beer Book admirably illustrates.

This brilliant looking book has been presided over by a triumvirate of beer lovers – Sylvia Kopp, Robert Klanten and Sven Ehmann – and provides an in-depth overview of the craft beer brewing processes and some of the brands that we all know and love. There is a pioneering, adventurous spirit bubbling away beneath the craft beer scene as they rally against the lower quality brews being peddled by the multi-national brewers and, given our love of these more lovingly crafted ales, a book of this nature is right up our street here at The Coolector.

Boasting 256 pages of beer based awesomeness, this is definitely one for the aficionado and if you’ve a genuine interest in how smaller, more creative brewers go about creating their beers, then this will be the book for you. Check out some shots of this cracking looking book below:

The craft beer scene is highly attractive to us on a number of levels and we’re always seeking to broaden our knowledge of the industry and the brilliant looking Barley & Hops book will definitely be on our must have list when it hits shelves this September.

If you know a beer lover and you’re looking for the perfect gift for them, we can think of few things we’d want more than this and not many love a good old craft ale more than us here at Coolector HQ. This is an essential read in our eyes and we can’t wait to get our hands on a copy.
