Circula SuperSport Watch

We don’t know about you but when it comes to timepieces, we like ours to have a bit of adventure-readiness to them here at The Coolector and, truth be told, we’ve seen few better examples of this of late than the superb looking SuperSport Watch from German watchmakers, Circula. They were founded by Heinz Huber in 1955 and realignedin 2017 by its new owner Cornelius Huber, who is the grandson of the founder. Circula offers discerning watch fans high-quality timepieces in an authentic retro design, with modern Swiss movements from Sellita. The watches from Circula -named after the circulationof the balance wheel in a mechanical watch are a real sight to behold and there are few better examples of this fact in action than their newly released SuperSport Watch.

Priced at an incredible price of just €699, the Circula SuperSport Watch is right up our aesthetic street here at The Coolector and if you demand a no-nonsense performance alongside an eye-catching style from your timepieces, you need look no further than the SuperSport. This is a devilishly cool, Super-Compressor diving watch, a style that were first launched in the 1950s. The most eye-catching aspect of the SuperSport is, that it is not just a Super-Compressor-style watch (i.e., two crowns and an inner rotating bezel), but also boasts a real compressor-function. As such, the case back is compressed by water pressure for better sealing. The revolutionary technology has been forgotten with the use of increasingly robust rubber seals and is now celebrating a comeback courtesy of German watchmakers, Circula.

Old School, Sporty Style

As you might expect from a timepiece called the SuperSport, there is a decidedly sporting aesthetic to this timepiece which will look great on the wrists of any adrenaline junkies out there who are always in search of their next adventure. As a genuine Super-Compressor, the SuperSport Watch from Circula is based on models from the middle of the last century, but has been thoroughly modernised with today’s sporty design features. The case has a diameter of 40millimetres and a water resistance of 300 meters which will be more than enough for any underwater excursions you’ve got planned. The sapphire crystal guarantees a scratch-free view on the dial, which is equipped with Swiss Super-LumiNova®C3 X1 and built in an eye-catching sandwich construction.

The Circula SuperSport Watch (€699) is great in low light conditions as the inner rotating bezel and also the crown are filled with Swiss Super-LumiNova®C3. High-quality mechanical movements with automatic winding from Sellita in Switzerland are the driving force behind the precise time display, which is optionally available in ‘Top’ grade version with an extra hard Glucydur balance wheel for particularly high precision day in, day out. This is truly a cooperative timepiece as it was created in collaboration with watch enthusiasts from all over the world. During the joint development on the brand’s website, over 4,500 votes were cast on various aspects of the watch and many of these have been incorporated into the final timepiece.

This is a design approach that has already proven itself a winning formula with the retro diving watch AquaSport, which was released by Circula back in 2020. The result is a watch that is unique in terms of both design and construction, meets the highest quality standards and still remains affordable. Like all mechanical Circula watches, the SuperSport is built in Pforzheim to exacting standards and there is a tangible sense of quality to its finish which you will witness first hand when you put it on your wrist for the first time. A glorious looking watch which is ready for all of life’s little (and big) adventures.
