When you’re staying in a city for one night only, chances are you’re going to want a hotel that’s right in the thick of the action and has an unparalleled location but, as you’re there to see the city, the hotel itself is almost secondary. Well, the guys at citizenM deliver the best of both worlds by offering rooms in exceptional locations in cities all over the world alongside fantastic rooms and we recently had the opportunity to try out one of their small but perfectly formed (and located) rooms at the Tower Bridge location in London.

The citizenM Tower Bridge Hotel is all about location, location, location and we were delighted to be able to pick (during an awesome automated check-in process) a room that looked directly out onto the Tower of London and London Bridge. Views like this don’t come along every day and to have it to wake up to is a rare treat indeed. The rooms at the citizenM Tower Bridge are functional rather than flashy but what they lack in size they more than make up for in technology and mod-cons so any stay here will be a relaxing and rejuvenating one.

As mentioned, citizenM are the sort of hotel that prize location over all else and you’ll be hard pressed to find better located hotels in any city than those offered by this top notch boutique hotel change. It’s all about a social experience at these hotels and it’s for that reason that so much care and attention has gone into the design and finish of the communal areas such as lobbies, restaurants and bars. At the citizenM Tower Bridge Hotel, there is a rooftop bar that offers out of this world views and serves as the perfect spot to sip a craft beer or two or quaff a delicious cocktail.

London On Your Doorstep

With such a fantastic location literally a stone’s throw from the iconic Tower of London, this superb citizenM Hotel was the perfect spot for us to enjoy the sights and sounds of London, right on the banks of the River Thames. With some 370 rooms at the hotel and each room boasting quirkiness in spades, there can be few better quick and easy style hotels for you to pick if you really want to see some of London’s most famous tourist attractions.

Stylish and supremely comfortable, the rooms have everything you’re likely to need for a short stay and we love the ability to control almost everything in the room from a centralised iPad. You can watch free movies (and they’ve got some really recent cinema offerings) from the XL king-size bed and if it’s been a hard day beating the London streets, the monsoon rain shower will soak away the stresses and strains. Each room comes with a stunning wall-to-wall window which is perfect for taking pictures and you post it straight to your social media channels with the free Wi-Fi.

The communal areas of the citizenM Tower Bridge Hotel truly are exemplary with the expansive lobby chock full of striking London memorabilia and expertly designed to really welcome people into the London lifestyle. It was the sky bar that really resonated with us here at The Coolector, however, given our love of craft beers in lofty positions and the view from the multi-levelled, terraced sky bar truly must be one of the best in London.

Great For Short Stays

Whilst the rooms are probably a touch on the small side for extended stays (but that’s not what citizenM are about really), they are ideally suited for whistle stop tours of the city – combining superb locations with great communal spaces and mod-cons. We loved our overnight stay at the citizenM Tower Bridge Hotel and would certainly recommend it to anyone visiting London wanting to see the stunning sights of that part of the city.

With an unparalleled location and comfortable room with extraordinary views, this was definitely a welcome break indeed and it’s impossible not to be drawn in by London’s history when you’ve got the Tower of London and Tower Bridge literally right outside of your hotel window. Thoroughly recommended.
