Farer Leven Watch

When we find a watchmaker of Farer’s calibre here at Coolector HQ, we always find ourselves gravitating towards their wares whenever they’ve got new accessories on the market and the excellent Farer Leven Watch has definitely got to be one of their finest looking and most accomplished to date. This magnificent looking timepiece from Farer is an Aqua Compressor automatic watch with silver sunray dial, which is supplied with both natural rubber strap and 316L steel bracelet so you can alternate depending on the occasion and outfit.

With a price tag of £1095, the Farer Leven Watch has a great price for such an accomplished timepiece and if you’re after a first class accessory that is built for adventure, this will more than fit the bill. The watch is named after HMS Leven, a 20-gun Royal Navy ship built in Ipswich and launched on 23 December 1813. First seeing action in the Napoleonic wars, operating along the Atlantic coast of France, but best known for her work with the Royal Navy Survey Service. In 1821 HMS Leven set off on an epic voyage which resulted in mapping the whole east coast of Africa, numerous islands and parts of Arabia. By the time she returned home in 1826, over 30,000 nautical miles of coast had been surveyed.

Aquatic Awesomeness

There is a fantastic, functional excellence to the Farer Leven Watch and the super-smooth silver sunray dial lends a timeless sophistication to the visual impact. Boasting raised polished track batons around the dial and a clear double baton marker at 12, all infilled with off-white Super-LumiNova, square colour blocks edge the batons which catches the light with a pop of unexpected colour in teal. There is the characteristic Farer oversized dive hands in contrasting colours accent the dial; black polished steel for the hours and burnt orange for the minutes.

The Farer Leven Watch (£1095) has an outer unidirectional bezel which is finished off in silk matte black with overprinted white numerals in five-minute markings and zero arrow, with a 20-minute detailed scale for decompression times highlighted in burnt orange. The Leven Watch from Farer expertly combines functional design with vibrant use of colour to give the timepiece a unparalleled visual impact that we’re loving here at Coolector HQ.

Supplied on natural black rubber strap with oversized 316L stainless steel buckle but also coming with a 316L stainless steel tapered bracelet with two-way clasp and safety locking mechanism plus in-built wetsuit extension and fine adjustment capability, the Leven Watch from Farer is a mighty versatile accessory that is crafted for both adventure and day to day wear and this is one of the UK watchmaker’s most striking and top performing timepieces.

Impeccable Components

Farer pride themselves in creating products that stand the test of time and the Leven Watch is a fine example of these endeavours. They design their watches meticulously in London before they are handmade, without compromise in Switzerland and the end result is quality personified. That’s why we they offer a 60-month / 5-year movement guarantee on all Farer watch movements and the Swiss Made ETA 2824-2 Non-Date Elaboré movement used here comes with the bespoke Farer rotor with engraved submersible wave design.

For any man after a brilliant new timepiece in 2019, the Farer Leven Watch would be one of our top picks here at The Coolector. Great design, coupled with excellent components combine to make this one of their finest watches to date and we can’t wait to see what new timepieces they come up with over the next 12 months.
