Ferrari 400 Superamerica Aerodinamico Series II

There is certainly no shortage of classic Ferraris to be found on the pages of The Coolector but we might just have found a new favourite in the shape of this, quite frankly glorious, Ferrari 400 Superamerica Aerodinamico Series II that is up for sale with luxury car specialists, Schaltkulisse.

The Ferrari 400 Superamerica Aerodinamico Series II is the last of 18 LWB’s ever made and one of just 14 with covered headlights. This jaw-dropping machine started life in 1964 in the classy colour combination of Grigio Argento over Nero VM 8500 Connolly with red carpets and it is presented here in an immaculate condition that will ensure it takes pride of place in any collector’s lineup. It was sold new to the company FIN-EUR Finanziaria Commerciale Europea S.p.A. located in Rome, Italy, in 1964.

This Ferrari Superamerica from Schaltkulisse keeps its original engine and gearbox and is fully matching numbers. The car has clearly been exceptionally well looked after at the hands of Ralli Dimitrius over the span of five decades. Despite its excellent condition, Schaltkulisse decided to bring the steed’s quality to an even higher level, as they like to do with any of their vehicles for sale. The 400 has spent several months with Auto Toni in Maranello and has been updated mechanically and cosmetically, now sporting the incredible shade of Rosso Cina.

After a visit to Concorso d’Eleganza Villa d’Este and the Ferrari Classiche Certification currently on rails, the Superamerica is seeking new owners who appreciate this majestic machine’s unusual and eye-catching history. It’s history is very well documented, with several pictures of the restoration works carried out in the US as well as loads of invoices including those of the recent works carried out at Toni Auto in Maranello. After the cornerstone of your classic car collection? This might just be it.
