The History of Video Game Controllers

As avid videogame aficionados here at Coolector HQ, who have likely played on more or less every incarnation of home computer system of the last thirty years or so, and a new series of photography from Spaniard, Javier Laspiur, has certainly caught our eye. The History of Videogame Controllers is a particularly eye-opening collection of photographs that any fan of computer games will have fallen for as it strikes a nostalgic chord and celebrates some of the controllers used for all the great home game systems that we’ve all enjoyed in our youth.

Laspiur is a photographer from Madrid who has superbly captured our imaginations with his series of video game controller photography and if you’ve ever played on a Super Nintendo, SEGA Dreamcast or Playstation, you’ll find plenty to enjoy within this collection of photography. As you can see, it’s been somewhat of a labour of love for Laspuir and he too clearly has a deep love of videogames that spans the decades. For anyone with even a passing interest in gaming, this collection of photography will have struck a chord and it is genuinely interesting to see how controllers have evolved over the last 30 years or so.
