iPhone X

Smartphones have been improving year on year, there’s no doubt about that and they might just have reached their zenith in the form of the rather extraordinary looking iPhone X – but prepared to dig deep in order to get one of these stunning bits of tech in your pocket because they look set to retail for around £1000. But, from what we’ve seen so far, if any smartphone is worthy of such a lofty price tag, it’s the iPhone X.

Immersive in the extreme, the first thing you notice about the iPhone X is the fact that it’s almost entirely screen – this is something Apple have done by design with the intention of making their most engaging and aesthetically pleasing device to date. The iPhone X is a mighty intelligent piece of kit and it can respond to a tap, your voice, and even a glance to deliver the future of smartphone technology now.

Delicious Display

Described by Apple as being “all-screen”, it’s difficult to argue that the iPhone X is the brand’s most eye-catching to date and the all‑new 5.8‑inch Super Retina screen fills the hand and is a real treat for the eyes. It is positively overflowing with innovative technology and the display makes use of new techniques and technology to accurately follow the curves of the design to provide a sleek, elegant smartphone that you won’t be able to take your eyes off.

As you would expect from such a pricey device, the boat has been well and truly pushed out with the iPhone X and you’ll be treated to spectacular features and technology everywhere you look with this latest offering from Apple. They have developed a TrueDepth camera for the smartphone and it is this tech which is responsible for the much heralded FaceID functionality of the iPhone X. For anyone who has ever succumbed to a smashed screen on their current iPhone, you’ll be glad to hear this new one boasts the most robust glass ever used in a smartphone on both the front and back.

Wireless charging is another stand out feature of the iPhone X that we’re loving here at Coolector HQ and the ability to make intuitive gestures to get your smartphone to do various tasks is a nice touch. You’ll notice there is no “home button” on this iPhone and, instead, a single swipe takes you home from anywhere you’ve navigated to on your phone. Your face becomes your password with the iPhone X and it will be your means of accessing your phone, making payments and authenticating various services.

Top Notch Tech

Improved cameras are a big benefit to photography lovers looking to invest in the iPhone X and this latest iteration from Apple has a larger and faster 12MP sensor alongside a brand new colour filter which has deeper and richer pixels for spectacularly detailed photographs. The wide-angle and telephoto cameras on iPhone X enable optical zoom, as well as digital zoom of up to 10x for photos and 6x for videos.

The iPhone X uses A11 Bionic, the most powerful and smartest chip ever in a smartphone, which has a six-core CPU design with two performance cores that are 25 per cent faster and four efficiency cores that are 70 per cent faster than the A10 Fusion, offering industry-leading performance and energy efficiency. The performance of this stunning device looks to be flawless and the eye-catching design is very much to our liking here at Coolector HQ and we’re sure they will fly of the shelves despite the somewhat eye-watering price tag.
