We’re always on the lookout for great examples of 3D printing here at Coolector HQ and given our love of architecture and, to a lesser extent Sim City, we were delighted to stumbled across a project called Ittyblox from Dutch design and architecture enthusiast, Stef de Vos.
These brilliantly inventive miniature dioramas are another fine example of the ways in which 3D printing can be utilised and the mini Sim City-esque cities are available for purchase via the global 3D printing platform, Shapeways, with a new building or city being uploaded each week to allow you to create your own cities.
Surprisingly detailed and impeccably crafted, these small building really do showcase the capabilities of modern printing technology and we love to see 3D printing used in inventive ways like this here at Coolector HQ. Check out a few more of the pieces from Ittyblox below:
As you can see, there is an impressive level of detail on show in these awesome little prints from Ittyblox and we’re massive fans of the miniature London cityscape here at Coolector HQ. 3D printing is sure to have another big year in 2015 and it’s already off to a great start with this spiffing little project with big ideas.
