NANU Nudge

We’re quite prone to fidgeting and we’re pretty EDC obsessed here at The Coolector so it stands to reason that we’ve had our heads turned by the NANU Nudge which is funding over on Kickstarter as we speak. This small but perfectly formed accessory is billed as a tabletop tally counter for personal reflection – it allows you to track the wins, routines, and habits that matter most to you on a daily basis. You just choose what you want to count, then push to start and the rest is just a matter of numbers.

Nudge from NANU reimagines the common tally counter. You’ve probably seen tally counters used to count people entering a venue and the guys at NANU noticed that people were adopting these for personal use – things like tracking habits or counting progress towards goals – and this sparked an idea in them. Available on Kickstarter for the bargain price of just $99, this piece of EDC boasts a vintage style aesthetic that is right up our street here at Coolector HQ. Counting is empowering because it calls attention to stuff you might otherwise overlook and that is the fundamental principle behind the NANU Nudge.

KEEPING TRACK OF WHAT MATTERS

It’s becoming widely accepted that most human behavior is automatic, which is a little surprising but, when you think about it, actually makes sense. Imagine if every waking moment of the day required conscious decision making – it would be exhausting and take its toll on us in no time. This is where counters like the NANU Nudge come in. Paying attention to certain subconscious behaviors can make them less automatic. So, whether it’s something you’re trying to do less of (or more of), counting takes your brain off autopilot so you can choose your next move. Not to mention, there’s an awful lot of satisfaction in seeing your progress as well.

The NANU Nudge on Kickstarter (from $99) is overflowing with deliciously detailed design features that helps set it apart from the competition. The count mechanism is secured in a heavy-weight brass alloy housing and, at over half a pound, it feels substantial and satisfying to hold in your hand. NANU added a smooth contoured count button and a straight knurled reset knob for pleasing clicks and turns. Within the Nudge there is a lubricious polymer chassis (a fancy way of saying a low friction internal structure) for smooth-moving parts.

Last but not least, the counter value is displayed beneath a domed plexiglass crystal, much like a watch or other quality timepiece. There are all sorts of things you can keep count of using the NANU Nudge such as the number of books you’ve read this year, number of a product you’ve sold from your online store, the number of days since your last alcoholic drink or cigarette and so much more. We’re loving the vintage vibes that this excellent bit of EDC exudes and for anyone looking for a more tangible means of keeping track of things, look no further. Head on over to Kickstarter now to bag yours for just $99.
