Spinnaker Hull Watch

Spinnaker are a watch brand that we’ve encountered a few times here at Coolector HQ and we’ve always been impressed with their nautically themed timepieces but they’ve taken things to a whole new level with their latest release, the fantastic looking Spinnaker Hull Watch, which represents a considerable leap forward on the aesthetic and performance front for this watchmaking brand.

The Spinnaker Hull Watch has an immediate visual impact and builds upon the brand’s already lofty reputation for delivering affordable watches with an impressive performance. Having already built a reputation in the watch world by crafting uniquely designed, purpose driven, and affordable timepieces, Spinnaker decided to, if you’ll excuse the nautical pun, push the boat out for the Hull Watch and the end result is, in our opinion, their best looking timepiece to date.

Incredible Affordability

When you consider what has gone into the crafting of the Spinnaker Hull Watch, you’ll find it hard to believe that it can be on your wrist for just $250. From an aesthetic point of view alone, it looks a much more expensive timepiece and it actually boasts some excellent materials and specifications throughout its construction that make its minimal price tag all the more difficult to fathom. This vintage inspired timepiece retains many of the design features of Spinnaker’s other watches, the Croft and the Fleuss, but also offers something different for fans of the brand and newcomers alike.

The Spinnaker Hull Watch boasts an impeccably crafted stainless steel cushion case, meaning it measures in at a comfortable 42mm in diameter but, crucially, is only 12mm thick. The lugs of this devilishly dapper timepiece are a standard 22mm apart, and to secure the Hull to your wrist there is a waterproof, vintage style leather strap that comes in a colour to match the eye-catching dial. There is an impressive movement, given the price of the watch, in the shape of the NH35, which is an automatic Japanese movement that has a 41 hour power reserve, amplitude of 21,600 bph, and both hacking and hand-winding capabilities.

With the movement being visible via the caseback, you’ll be blown away by just how visually impactful the Hull Watch from Spinnaker is and it water resistant to 100m so will be ready for any and every adventure you plan to take it on this summer. The fumée dial is available in brown, blue, or green, has gilt surrounds on the hands and cream colored lume to create a vintage feel to the watch. The Hull has a sandwich dial, adding a great amount of depth and personality and the dial text on the watch is quite minimal, and rounding out the dial design is the date located at the 3 o’clock position.

Pushing the Boundaries

It’s fair to say that Spinnaker have pushed the boundaries of what is achievable for a $250 watch with their Hull timepiece and we’re loving its bold, uncompromising design here at Coolector HQ. Whether you’re on the hunt for a stylish, reliable first watch or want to add to your everyday timepiece collection, this exemplary offering is going to tick all of the right boxes and delivers an impressive performance and unparalleled style.

The Hull Watch from Spinnaker has the fumée sandwich dial which, to be honest, would be an eye-catching feature regardless of price point, and when you combine this with the well-proportioned cushion shaped case, reliable NH35 movement, and variety of colour options to pick from it really does represent extraordinary value for money.
