Few names in the automotive world command the reverence of Singer Vehicle Design. The California outfit has spent over a decade perfecting the air-cooled Porsche 911, elevating classic 964 chassis into bespoke works of rolling mechanical art.

Their latest program—the DLS Turbo (Dynamics & Lightweighting Study)—pays homage to the ferocious Porsche 934/5 endurance racers of the late 1970s.

Available via RM Sotheby’s Private Sales with Price Upon Request (£POA), the 1991 Porsche 911 Reimagined by Singer – DLS Turbo – The Firefly Commission stands as one of the most remarkable examples ever created.

710 BHP Twin-Turbo Flat-Six Powerhouse
At the heart of the Firefly Commission sits a radical evolution of Porsche’s 3.6-litre flat-six engine.

Expanded to 3.8 litres by Singer, the engine features four valves per cylinder, water-cooled cylinder heads, and twin turbochargers equipped with electric wastegates. The result is a staggering output of 710 bhp and 750 Nm of torque, pushing all the way to a screaming 9,000 rpm redline.

Power is sent exclusively to the rear wheels through a bespoke six-speed manual gearbox, delivering an unadulterated, highly visceral driving experience.

Carbon-ceramic brakes and central-locking magnesium wheels wrapped in sticky Michelin Pilot Sport Cup 2R rubber ensure the chassis harnesses every pony.
Intersecting Track Downforce & Road Elegance
Singer designed the DLS Turbo’s carbon fibre bodywork using advanced computational fluid dynamics to maximize aerodynamic efficiency. Uniquely, the Firefly Commission was ordered with both track-focused and road-focused bodywork setups.

The track configuration utilizes a massive, high-downforce rear wing and aggressive front splitter, while the road configuration features a sleek ducktail rear spoiler.
“With 710 bhp on tap, twin-turbochargers, and a Solid Tangerine finish, the Firefly Commission Singer DLS Turbo is the ultimate love letter to 1970s endurance racing.”
The unused body components are safely housed in bespoke, foam-lined flight cases, allowing the owner to transform the car’s visual stance and aerodynamic balance whenever desired.
Bespoke Solid Tangerine Craftsmanship
Specified in right-hand drive for the UK market—one of approximately ten built to RHD specifications—the Firefly Commission features a paint-to-sample Solid Tangerine exterior paired with a matching Orange leather interior.

All brightwork, both inside and out, is finished in a stealthy black anodised matte tone, allowing the vibrant orange hue to take center stage.
