Yema Rallygraf Meca-Quartz Watches

As big watch aficionados here at Coolector HQ, we’re always on the hunt for timepieces to suit every budget and style persuasion and we don’t all have thousands of dollars to shell out on a new accessory but that doesn’t mean to say you need to compromise on quality as these awesome Yema Rallygraf Meca-Quartz Watches admirably illustrate. Available to purchase from the Worn & Wound WindUp Store, these great looking timepieces are wonderfully well priced at just $329.

Yema are a watchmaker that were founded in 1948 in Besançon, France by Henry Louis Belmont. They became the leading exporter of French watches in the late 1960’s, and have been in continuous operation ever since. Spanning the gamut from iconic dive watches to patented yachting timers to the watch worn during a historic win at the Indy 500, Yema’s backstory is chock full of the kind of landmarks that only great watch brands can typically achieve. These breathtaking Rallygraf Meca-Quartz Watches from Yema represent a superb opportunity to get your hands on a high end watch without having to break the bank.

Retro Style Aesthetic

These Yema Rallygraf Meca-Quartz Watches are available in a number of different dial colourways and they pack a real visual punch that we’re loving here at Coolector HQ. For any seeking a vintage-styled chronograph timepiece with an authentic aesthetic, it’s probably a good idea to go to a brand that was actually around back then. Yema, founded in 1948, was not just around at the time, but a real innovator in the field, crafting some of the most innovative and eye-catching chronograph watches to come out of the period.

The Yema Rallygraf Meca-Quartz Watches from the Worn & Wound WindUp Store ($329) is a tasteful tribute to this era which comes in a pleasingly affordable package. Boasting a 39mm case, vast domed crystal, and external tachymeter bezel, the Rallygraf has all of the makings of vintage-style. What makes it distinctly Yema though is the spectacular dials. A sandwich construction, the dial has two large exotic sub-dials that positively shout 1960’s, with applied markers around the edge of the dial. For a unique, uncompromising and exhilarating timepiece, you need look no further.

Powered by the Seiko VK64 Meca-Quartz Chronograph caliber, the Yema Rallygraf Meca-Quartz has an impressive performance that won’t let you down. This Japanese-made hybrid movement mixes a mechanical chronograph mechanism with quartz time regulation to deliver the best of both worlds. The chronograph centre-hand sweeps at 1/5th second intervals for an effortlessly smooth motion and all hands instantly reset. In addition, you’ll discover a 60-minute totaliser at the nine position and a 24-hour hand at three with a battery life of around 36 months.

Old School Cool

There is something about the vintage style aesthetic of these Rallygraf Watches from Yema that really appeals to our design sensibilities here at The Coolector and for any man after a classy, traditional style timepiece for their wrist that doesn’t cost the earth, these would certainly be one of our first choices for sure.

The sub-$350 price tag is a pretty miraculous one for such an accomplished timepiece and it’s hard to believe you can get one on your wrist for such an incredible price. The quality is plain to see from a visual perspective but they also use materials and components which belie the affordability and that’s a definite win, win in our book.
