Zodiac Super Sea Wolf 53 Skin Watch

Zodiac are a watchmaker which, if you’ll excuse the godawful pun, we’ve got a lot of time for here at The Coolector and they create some of the classiest timepieces for a great entry level luxury price. A prime example of this in action is the brilliant looking Zodiac Super Sea Wolf 53 Skin Watch which is available to buy from the Worn & Wound Store and is the ideal candidate to be the next addition to your line up of luxury watches.

The Zodiac Super Sea Wolf 53 Skin Watch has a price tag of $1295 and comes in a highly striking creme/gold colourway that we’re big fans of. The Sea Wolf is Zodiac’s most noted and iconic watch design to date and for good reason. It was first released over half a century ago in 1953 and it is one of the timepieces that has defined the contemporary dive watch. Featuring a rotating bezel, large lumed markers and hands, and a steel bracelet, it had all of the elements needed for a diver and much, much more.

Dive, Dive, Dive

Zodiac are a watchmaker that are particularly adept at crafting first class dive watches and the Super Sea Wolf 53 Skin on the Worn & Wound Store is definitely an excellent example of this fact. This bold, no nonsense timepiece has a polished and brushed steel case with an eye-catching creme dial that is sure to turn heads amongst horology aficionados everywhere you go.

The Zodiac Super Sea Wolf 53 Skin Watch ($1295) brings a classic collection from the watchmaker well and truly into the 21st century. The Super Sea Wolf range from Zodiac was the first timepiece that was marketed to consumers rather than specialists, with dive specific features. The contemporary Super Sea Wolfs draw directly from the original design, but with updated sizes, specs and a keener eye for colour combinations and style.

The Skin diver from Zodiac is the truest to the original design that the watchmaker has released to date as it boasts a 39.5mm case and milled steel bezel. Though larger than vintage references the case is properly compact for a retro aesthetic, and it has a mighty impressive 200m of water resistance – perfect for any underwater adventures. The dial also retains the original’s eye-catching design with large triangular plots and dauphin hands with plenty of lume for increased visibility in low light conditions. For a unique, but traditional style dive watch, the Sea Wolf Skin is a great option in our opinion here at Coolector HQ.

Top Quality Movement

Powering the Super Sea Wolf from Zodiac is the STP 1-11 caliber which is a high quality choice for a watch in this price bracket. This Swiss-made automatic movement features 26-jewels, date (if used), swan-neck regulator, hand-winding, hacking seconds, a power reserve of some 44 hours and a frequency of 28,800bph for a smooth sweeping seconds hand.

Available from the Worn & Wound Store for $1295, the Sea Wolf 53 Skin Watch from Zodiac is one of the classiest looking dive watches we’ve seen in a while here at The Coolector. Zodiac are pioneers in the world of automatic watches, “mystery” watches, electronic and even quartz watches. Now, under the wing of Fossil, they have been working hard to bring this rich history to the surface by recreating their iconic timepieces to great new heights.
