Budnitz Alpha Bicycle

When it comes to bicycles, it goes without saying that performance is the all-important factor but it certainly doesn’t hurt if it is combined with an awesome aesthetic to boot and that’s exactly what you get with the Budnitz Alpha Bicycle. Form meets function in glorious harmony here and we’re huge advocates of its classy, stealthy design here at The Coolector and though it doesn’t come cheap, you get what you pay for. Namely, unparalleled quality.

The Budnitz Alpha Bicycle has a price tag that starts at $2250 so it represents a bit of an investment of course and is suited to those who take their cycling seriously and find themselves on two wheels on the regular. This eye-catching steed boasts plenty of features and material choices that help to justify the lofty price tag and deliver a performance that really is second to none. Billed as an everyday bike built for anything, the Alpha will likely be the most accomplished bike you’ve ever owned if you get your hands on one in 2020.

Titanium Titan

This Alpha Bicycle from Budnitz is certainly a no-nonsense performer and is made of tough stuff to ensure that it delivers wherever you take it. It is designed for city commuting, exercise and joyriding but it is such a versatile design and build that it will soar no matter your adventures. It delivers the world-class riding experience that Budnitz is synonymous with and it is lightning-fast and, pleasingly, very low maintenance.

It is the frame of the Budnitz Alpha Bicycle (from $2250) that really helps to set it apart from the competition. It boasts the workshop’s featherlight, high performance FlyLite™ cantilever frame geometry in custom extruded and hydroformed aluminium. This has been paired with a carbon fork for rapid, precise handling during your urban adventures and commutes. The custom internal cable routing and 3D Cnc’d rear dropout help ensure it delivers a stable, comfortable ride every time you jump in the saddle.

Despite its size, the Budnitz Alpha Bicycle is surprisingly lightweight and spritely and despite its lightweight disposition, it is supremely robust for all the conditions a serious rider will likely run into when they are logging miles across their home city. The base build comes equipped with a trigger-shifting Shimano Alfine 8-speed internally geared hub with a 307% gear range but, if you prefer, you can upgrade to the Alfine 11 or Rohloff 14 for the benefits of a wider range and no extra weight.

Easy Rider

Comfort is key feature of the bicycles from Budnitz and the Alpha is certainly no exception. The Gates Carbon Drive is an important part of the Alpha’s make up and it is silky smooth, virtually silent, and lasts twice as long as a traditional chain so you’ll never have any qualms about its performance that’s for sure. Crucially, it also never derails and eliminates messy grease that is one of the main gripes of cyclists the world over.

Budnitz are responsible for some of the world’s best titanium bicycles and you can definitely add the Alpha to that list. Each bicycle is custom built for each client to ensure its quality and they are made using grease-free belt drives, internal gearing from Rohloff and some of the world’s best components.
