Meridian Prime MP-01 Watch

Meridian-Prime

The Swiss have got a pretty firm stranglehold on the luxury watchmaking industry and, truth be told, it’s particularly well merited given the fact that the likes of Breitling, Baume et Mercier, Blancpain and Audemars Piguet all herald from Switzerland. It’s encouraging to see that there are still some plucky chaps out there from non-Swiss countries having a pop at cracking the ridiculously competitive watchmaking industry and one of the most recent and impressive brands to try and muscle their way in our the British watchmaking brand, Meridian.

The Meridian brand is the work of two British friends, Simon and Richard, who wanted to bring back the heyday of British watchmaking and I for one think they have pulled this off with some considerable aplomb with their latest timepiece offering – the Meridian Prime MP-01 watch, which can be seen in all it’s glory below:

This heartedly impressive timepiece epitomises everything that is great about British watchmaking, both past and present, and it is a simultaneously stylish and rugged looking watch which perfectly straddles the luxury and sporty appearance that will make them appeal to all type of timepiece aficionado. The Meridian Prime MP-01 watch has a plentitude of features that make it stand out from the crowd, not least the fact it isn’t Swiss, and some of the most eye-catching of these characteristics include a hand-polished stainless steel case, sapphire crystal glass with internal and external anti-reflective coating, Meridian Prime Calibre movement, 40 hour power reserve and limited to just 100 pieces.

Cost £4695 – find it online at Meridian Timepieces.
