Sideways Sign Co

New York is one of our favourite cities in the world here at Coolector HQ so we’ll inevitably gravitate towards goods that celebrate the Big Apple in some way and we’ve encountered few better of late than these decidedly awesome New York Subway Signs from Sideways Sign Co. If you’re a similar Manhattanophile, you too will likely be won over by these simply, yet undeniably excellent, works of art which are designed to hang on the walls or reside on the desk of your workspace.

Ideally suited to Manhattan loft style apartments, these stylish hand-made, wood signs are officially licensed by the MTA and are purposely slightly distressed to add to the authentic look and feel of the signs. Through a unique partnership with the Manhattan Transport Authority, Sideways Sign Co. have been granted a license to produce replica subway signs from around Manhattan and the end result is pretty spiffing, we’re sure you’ll agree.

Each one of these mightily impressive signs is hand-cut, hand-painted and then painstakingly distressed to give them an aged look that adds to their aesthetic appeal considerably. What makes them even more impressive is the fact that they can be custom made to your own requirements insomuch as if the subway sign you want isn’t represented, Sideways Sign Co. can craft it for you. The project is currently being funded (already successfully, we’re pleased to report) and you can check out their support video and a few more images of their cracking New York subway signs below:
