Big Bad Wolves

When Quentin Tarantino describes a film as “The Best Film of the Year” then you’re invariably going to sit up and take notice a little and that’s exactly the praise that he lavished upon the upcoming Israeli film that goes by the name of Big Bad Wolves and for which you can see the rather entertaining trailer above.

Revenge thrillers are Tarantino’s stock and trade so it perhaps shouldn’t be too surprising that he’s fallen for this rather brutal looking film but, having watched the trailer, we here at The Coolector are equally as excited about its impending release as it looks like a darkly humorous take on the revenge thriller genre.

The film was written and directed by Aharon Keshales and Navot Papushado and it stars Lior Ashkenazi, Rotem Keinan, Tzahi Grad and Dov Glickman so, as you can see, it’s not a star studded affair but when the acting and directing looks as good as the trailer would have us believe then that surely won’t be an issue.

Big Bad Wolves is set around three gruesome murders that set three men on a collision course – one a cop with few boundaries, one a father out for the revenge of his murdered daughter and one the murderer who was released due to a police blunder. Gruesome but compelling stuff by the looks of it.

Big Bad Wolves will be released in cinemas and on iTunes on 17th January.
