City Lights

I think its fair to say that, being a regular London rambler, we here at The Coolector have seen the visual delights of a city at night but we’ve never quite born witness to it quite as spectacularly as the extraordinary video that has been put together by Colin Rich of Deer Dog Productions and which goes by the name of City Lights.

This breathtaking production was painstakingly put together over the course of a number of months and is the final part of Rich’s trio of movies entitled “Trilogy of Light” which also entailed the equally as impressive LA Light and Nightfall and we here at Coolector HQ were pretty mesmerised from beginning to end of the exceptionally striking City Lights video. The video captures LA from more or less every conceivable angle but it was far from a walk in the park, with Rich stating:

It was challenging. It was frustrating. Definitely dangerous at times. Sometimes it hurt. I was chased. Yelled at. Warned. But the overall context of things learned, people met, things seen, and places discovered over the past three years shaped who I am today.

Well, we’re definitely glad that he persevered because the finish film is nothing short of spectacular throughout and gives a real eye-opening look at the power which surges through a city after the sun goes down. A fantastically entertaining short film showcasing the dedication of a talented film maker, City Lights has undoubtedly left us mightily impressed at Coolector HQ and we can’t wait to see what Colin Rich comes up with next.
