Fisher Price Adventure People Killers

For any child of the 80s, I think its safe to say that horror films used to be a good deal more scary than today’s offerings (which may have been as a result of watching the movies whilst being a child) and the likes of Freddy Krueger et al have certainly given us plenty a sleepless night in our time. It is for that reason that we can now, in adulthood, appreciate these awesome, tongue in cheek, Fisher Price Adventure People Killers, mocked up in a Fischer Price toy package from a talented character designer by the name of Phil Postma.

This brilliantly conceived idea emerged as a result of a mash-up idea popping into Postma’s head one day whereby he thought it would be great to bring some childhood horror icons to life in the form of Fisher Price toys and, having looked at his creations, how right he was. Postma is an accomplished character designer and has over 20 years of experience in children’s animation working on shows such as Flash Gordon and The Mask, so these gory are somewhat of a departure.

The Fisher Price Adventure People Killers set of toys is essentially an amalgamation of Postma’s youth mashed together with toys he played with and the horror movies that he enjoyed and, the eagle-eyed amongst you, may have spotted the some backgrounds from Scooby Doo: Mystery Incorporated. We’re big fans of outside of the box creativity like this from Ottawa based, Phil Postma, and if you’ve grown up on the likes of A Nightmare on Elm Street and The Texas Chainsaw Massacre, then chances are you will be too.
