The Barn

There are certain types of buildings that just appeal to you and here at Coolector HQ, it’s barn house conversions so when we stumbled across a team of architects by the name of Carney, Logan & Burke, it’s safe to say we were left pretty mesmerised by one of their latest pieces of design, The Barn.

The Barn was completed in 2016 and is situated in the Teton Range of mountains in Wyoming which, needless to say, gives the conversion one of the most glorious and stunning backdrops imaginable and, as luck would have it, the design of the property isn’t half bad either.

Barnstorming Design

For those of you that love rustic, vintage style design principles, there is a lot to appreciate with The Barn from Carney, Logan & Burke and whilst it is aesthetically extraordinary on the outside, it’s on the inside where this amazing piece of design truly excels. Positively bathed in natural light courtesy of floor to ceiling windows in the loft area of the conversion, there is so many neat little design features throughout this exceptional conversion that it is difficult to know where to start.

On the ground floor of The Barn, you’ll find a garage which has been put in place so the owners can go to work on their passion of motorcycles, bicycles, and vintage cars. Directly above the garage you’ll find the hayloft and this floorspace is filled with a guest room, kitchenette, and gym.

Ensuring that the traditional barn aesthetic remained in tact was important to the designers and this has been accomplished through the use of eye-catching, reclaimed oak floors, a plank ceiling, exposed trusses and large sliding doors. The real stand out feature is the amazing views afforded to you of the Teton Range through the vast windows on the upper level of The Barn and it’s a view that you will simply never tire of.

Location, Location, Location

Whilst the reclaimed barnwood and cedar shake shingles exterior of The Barn is visually stunning, it is the location of the property that is the real star of the show and you simply cannot beat somewhere as remote and beautiful as the Teton Range and the architects have done a phenomenal job of integrating their design into the landscape.

If, like us, you’ve got a soft spot for barn conversions, you’ll likely have been bowled over with the eye-catching aesthetics and design of The Barn from Carney, Logan & Burke and it is hard not to be impressed with such a well thought out space and attention to detail.
