As big fans of the most recent iterations of the Batman movie franchise, we watched with interest when it was announced by FOX that they were working on a series called Gotham which would follow the story of Commissioner Gordon (before he was commissioner and was a mere detective) and that it would star O.C and Southland alum, Ben McKenzie. Trepidation gripped us a little that it would sully the good work carried out by Christopher Nolan in rejuvenating the Batman franchise but, having witnessed the trailer for Gotham above, it is patently clear we needn’t have worried.

Gotham stars the aforementioned, McKenzie, but he looks to be admirably supported by the likes Donal Logue and Jada Pinkett Smith and is set in a time period when the likes of Batman, Poison Ivy and The Penguin are still in their formative years and not the baddies that we all recognise today. If the loss of Breaking Bad, Dexter et al has left a hole in your TV viewing schedule, we here at Coolector HQ think you could do a lot worse than filling it with this excellent looking drama that is set to air in the autumn of this year – we, for one, can’t wait.
