Rhei Liquid Clock

In a lot of cases, the very best pieces of design are a labour of love and this is true of the Rhei Liquid Clock from industrial designer, Damjan Stankovic, who has spent over a year perfecting his creation and, as you can see, it’s been worth all the hard work because it looks all sorts of awesome.

The Rhei Liquid Clock is currently in the prototype stage and is an electro-mechanical timepiece that boasts an immeasurably appealing liquid display. It is a mightily impressive design feat to create a liquid clock face that can be manipulated in the tangible shape of numbers that we recognise on the fly and it isn’t surprising that it’s taken over a year to perfect the technique.

There is a uniqueness that permeates every element of the Rhei Liquid Clock and the designers claim that no two numbers displayed on the face will ever be completely the same due to the way in which they are created. Check out a video and a few more shots of the Rhei Liquid Clock below:

rhei-photoWe’re big fans of this sort of innovative design project here at Coolector HQ and it’s testament to the dedication of Stankovic that this project has come to fruition and we’re very much hoping it goes beyond the prototype stage and hits the shelves sooner rather than later.
